Inmaculada Cuesta Gómez (Jaén, España)
Inmaculada Cuesta Gómez, with the artistic name MAQ, was born in Jaén, an olive-growing land, of solid and unambitious people who prefer the wisdom and beauty of everyday life. He learned from his roots to look at his surroundings with the eyes of an artist. The eldest of 9 siblings leaves her native land at an early age and after years of study and work, it is her mother, also a creative artist, who makes her reconsider her gifts and at the age of 43 she begins her professional career as a painter and gallery owner who it is very prolific.
A good reader and thinker, from the beginning of her career she sees the need to capture the marriage between the different disciplines of art and her painting is marked by the analysis of the faces and personalities of painters, writers and anonymous people that she encounters on her path.
As a gallery owner in March 2004, together with the Malaga artist Paco Selva, he opened the EME 04 Gallery, Open Space for Art, in the Madrid street of Fernández de la Hoz. From 2006 to 2011 he was in charge of the gallery and created an Association for the promotion of Art. He intersperses his creations with exhibitions and artistic events of painting, photography, music, art, literature and creative workshops for children.
From June 2011 to March 2012 she was hired to direct LA REJA ART GALLERY, in Segovia
In September 2012, until December 2013 it opened its own Artistic Experimentation Space, called Arte Papel Segovia, where it organizes group and individual exhibitions and monographic courses given by artists and Author workshops. Since 2014 he dedicates his work to his own work adding artistic creations in the field of merchandising and decoration.
As a PAINTER, she develops her work mainly in abstract and portraiture. Among the pictorial series, the work related to Literature stands out, in the QUIJOTE 07 series, Tribute to Juan Ramón Jiménez, portraits of Poets (Juan Ramón Jiménez, García Lorca, Luís Rosales, Miguel Hernández, Machado, Jaime Gil de Biedma).
His extensive work has been exhibited 35 times and he has participated in various Competitions. He currently has paintings distributed in museums, entities and private collections in 15 Spanish cities and other countries such as Sydney (Australia), Beirut (Lebanon), Brussels (Belgium), Moscow (Russia), Kinshasa (Congo), Jerusalem (Israel).
